How are pipe floats produced?

PE pipe floats are widely used in the dredging and mining project to provide buoyancy. They are always used with HDPE pipes, steel pipes, and rubber hoses to make the pipelines can work on the water.   • Complete mold

  • Rotational molding

The production of pipe floats uses rotational molding technology. Rotational molding is used to make the outer shell of the floats. The outer shell of the floats is made of polyethylene. Polyethylene is currently the most widely used material.

  • Filled with foam inside

When the outer shell is manufactured, the shell need to be filled with foam inside to ensure buoyancy. The buoyancy is closely related to the filling foam. There are two types of filling materials: polyurethane and polystyrene. Polyurethane is currently the most widely used material, and polystyrene has been gradually phased out.
